Catch the wonderful Hattie Morahan (who starred in our short film Victims) on the stage through July as she stars in ‘A Doll’s House’ at the Young Vic theatre London. You can find out more information about the play and book tickets here http://www.youngvic.org/whats-on/a-dolls-house

I can say first hand that it is well worth going to see, Hattie and the rest of the cast are brilliant in this powerful and (I would say) cinematic staging of the play.

Go on, check it out, you only have until 4th August!

Enjoy.

Last year ‘Victims’ was screened at BAFTA in London and we took this photo of him and Director Tim Berry. Was it a premonition? We hope so.

Hattie Morahan (Outnumbered, Sense and Sensibility) and Briana Corrigan (Beautiful South) star in the short film ‘Victims’. The film deals with domestic violence and its consequences and follows news of planned government cuts to refuge centres.

Local Hammersmith journalist, Ellen (Hattie Morahan) pays a visit to Susan (Briana Corrigan), whose husband, Gavin, has been left mentally disabled after an apparent attack by local youths. Ellen intends to present Gavin with a Bravery Award as an accompaniment to her story on a local ‘have-a-go hero’, but over the course of her interview, Ellen learns that Susan is not revealing the whole truth about her relationship with Gavin and soon uncovers a history of domestic abuse and an ill-thought through act of retaliation…

Directed by Tim Berry  and Produced by Chris Carr ‘Victims’ was part financed by the Shorts Film Fund awarded by Hammersmith & Fulham Council in conjuction with Kensington & Chelsea and Wandsworth.

‘Victims’ is now in the finals for the Film London ‘Best of the Boroughs’ award 2011. You can view and vote for ‘Victims’ on the Film London website here

Previous films with this support have been shown at the London Film Festival and on ITV. We hope that ‘Victims’  will go on and do the same as past films in this scheme. Previous films funded by Film London have been seen all over the world and have been nominated for Best Short Film at the BAFTAs.

‘Victims’ was filmed between 8-10th April 2011 in the Hammersmith area. You can see photos and tweets from the set on Twitter @VictimsFilm

‘Victims’ was supported by Alesha Dixon and brands such as  Sony, O2, BMI, Jurys Inn and Lite Panels. Without their help filming would not have been possible.
